Privatus is a personal project by T.D, dedicated to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension operates and handles your data.

2. Data Stewardship (Local-First)

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal data to any external servers.

• Masking Processing: All text analysis and replacement (masking) occurs locally on your device using JavaScript running within the browser extension.
• Data Storage: Masking sessions (original text vs. masked text) are stored securely in your browser's IndexedDB. This data never leaves your machine.
• No Analytics: We do not track your usage behavior or collect telemetry data.

3. Permissions Usage

We request specific permissions to function correctly:

• activeTab / scripting: To inject the masking interface into the specific page you are using (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude).
• storage: To save your custom rules and session history locally.
• sidePanel: To display the masking control panel.

4. Third-Party Services

The extension adds functionality to third-party websites (e.g., chatgpt.com). We are not affiliated with these services. Any data you voluntarily submit to these services (after masking) is subject to their respective privacy policies.
